The venue and event space The Fern in Huntington Park is hosting a community event on June 9.
“In response to the fear, anxiety and uncertainty impacting our communities,” their Instagram post says. “especially in light of recent ICE activity and ongoing injustices, The Fern is opening its doors as a safe, welcoming space for families.”
“Whether you’re directly impacted or simply need a place to breathe, we invite you to gather in community, in care, and in peace.”
There will be a calming area to sit, color and unwind as well as relaxing music.
The event will be held from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at The Fern, 7723 Santa Fe. Ave. Huntington Park.
Families and kids are welcome. They have a play area for kids, including games and jumper. They will also have a rosary prayer at 5:30 p.m.
