¡DAMAS!, will perform for free at the center’s annual outdoor plaza party with live music by Adelaide Pilar & Mariachi Las Catrinas.

Curves in Concert, a concert experience featuring members of the original Broadway cast of “Real Women Have Curves: The Musical,” will perform at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

The performance features songs like “Make It Work” and “Flying Away” and includes a post-show talkback with the cast, joined by Josefina López, original author of the 1990 play.

After eighteen years under the roof of her immigrant parents, Ana is ready to spread her wings. Her dreams of college and a career in New York City are bursting at the seams. Still, when her family’s East Los Angeles garment business receives a make-or-break order of 200 dresses, she finds herself juggling her own ambitions, her mother’s expectations and a community of women all trying to make it work against all odds.

Is it worth sacrificing her dreams for her family, who sacrificed everything for her? The Real Women Have Curves soundtrack explores themes of cultural identity, immigration, resilience, and womanhood with warmth and honesty.

Following the ticketed event, ¡DAMAS! will perform for free at the center’s annual outdoor plaza party with live music by Adelaide Pilar & Mariachi Las Catrinas.

This event celebrates Women’s Herstory Month.

The Curves in Concert ticketed event starts at 7 pm on Friday, March 20th, in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall and includes a post-show talkback with the cast. ¡DAMAS! is free to attend on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza from 8–10 pm, featuring live music, dancing, food trucks, and women-owned vendors.
